Introducing Site Boundary Alerts
Knowing where your assets are is valuable. Knowing when something important happens is even more powerful.
We're excited to introduce Site Boundary Alerts, a new feature in Scopious IoT that combines GPS tracking, virtual site boundaries, and automated alerts to help organisations monitor asset movements in near real-time.
With Site Boundary Alerts, users can define boundaries around locations and automatically generate alerts whenever a tracked device enters or leaves those areas. Whether you're managing vehicles, machinery, equipment, livestock, or other mobile assets, Site Boundary Alerts provide immediate visibility when movement occurs.
How It Works
Users can create site boundaries directly within Scopious IoT using an interactive map. Once a boundary has been defined, GPS-enabled devices can be monitored against that location.
When a tracked asset crosses a site boundary, either entering or leaving the designated area, Scopious IoT automatically generates an alert. Notifications can be configured and managed using the platform's existing alerting framework, making setup simple and familiar.
By combining location tracking with automated notifications, teams can move beyond simply viewing location data and start responding to real-world events as they happen.
Benefits of Site Boundary Alerts
Real-Time Visibility
Receive alerts as soon as assets enter or leave important locations, helping teams stay informed without continuously monitoring maps or dashboards.
Faster Response Times
Identify unexpected movements quickly and take action sooner when equipment, vehicles, or assets move outside approved areas.
Reduced Manual Monitoring
Automate arrival and departure notifications rather than relying on manual reporting or status updates.
Improved Operational Awareness
Gain a clearer understanding of how assets move between sites, facilities, and operational zones.
Industry Applications
Site Boundary Alerts can be applied across a wide range of industries and use cases.
Industrial and Quarry Operations
Monitor heavy machinery, vehicles, and mobile equipment as they move throughout operational areas.
Alerts can notify teams when equipment leaves a quarry, enters a restricted zone, or arrives at a designated worksite, helping improve visibility and reduce the risk of loss or unauthorised movement.
Logistics and Freight
Automatically track arrivals and departures at distribution centres, warehouses, customer sites, and freight hubs.
Site Boundary Alerts can generate notifications when vehicles arrive or depart, helping streamline operations and improve communication between teams.
Agriculture and Agritech
Monitor livestock, farm vehicles, and mobile equipment across large properties.
Receive alerts when tracked assets move beyond designated paddocks, grazing areas, or operational boundaries, providing greater awareness of activity across the farm.
Utilities and Field Services
Track vehicles, trailers, and mobile assets as they move between depots, customer sites, and field locations.
Automated alerts help ensure teams know when assets arrive, depart, or move unexpectedly.
Turning Location Data into Action
Many organisations already collect location data from GPS-enabled devices. Site Boundary Alerts help transform that data into actionable operational intelligence by automatically identifying and notifying users when key events occur.
Instead of manually checking where assets are, teams can focus on responding to what matters.
Available Now
Site Boundary Alerts are available as part of the latest Scopious IoT release.
This new capability extends Scopious IoT's mapping and tracking functionality, enabling organisations to automate notifications based on asset movements and site activity.
